What's new and what's happening?

Our AGM and final Members' Seminar for 2011 was held on Saturday 5 November 2011. 

Members of the 2012 Executive Committe were elected, under the continung Presidency of Rod Nicholas, JP, and with the expert assistance from:

  • Beverly Alley JP,
    Vice Preident
  • John Coghlan JP, Secretary
  • Paul Adams JP, Treasurer/Registrar
  • Geoff Woods JP, Executive Member
  • Cissy Parker JP, Executive Member and
  • Luba Neiden-Bach JP, Executive Member. 

The next meeting of the Executive Committee is on Tuesday 29 November 2011, commencing at 6.00pm.  Members are welcome to attend; please call the Secretary or President beforehand to confirm the time and place.

The next edition of Justice Matters will be published in February/March 2012 - details will be posted closer to the publication date.

Welcome to the ACTJPA website

Justices of the Peace in the ACT serve the community primarily by:

  • administering oaths or affidavits, witnessing statutory declarations and taking affirmations;
  • witnessing signatures; and
  • attesting and certifying documents.

The ACT Justices of the Peace Association Inc. aims to support and promote the office and interests of Justices of the Peace within the ACT and to promote best practice amongst all ACT JPs in the conduct of their duties.

Whether you are trying to locate a JP, or are a JP looking for the latest information on Enduring Powers of Attorney or affidavits, we hope our website will meet all of your JP needs.

And if you are a Justice of the Peace for the ACT, and are considering the benefits of becoming a member of the Association, we hope our website will highlight the value of joining.
