The Constitution of the ACT JPs Association was first ratified in 1992 when the Association was incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1991. It has remained largely unchanged since then.
The Constitution establishes the objectives of the Association and the manner in which the Association conducts it business.
Any member may propose amendments to the Constitution. Any member wishing to propose amendments should give the suggested changes, and a statement outlining the effect which each amendment would have on the Constitution to the Secretary. Amendments will be voted on by eligible members at a general meeting of the Association. A two-thirds majority of the eligible members voting is required to pass an amendment.
The agenda papers and minutes of ACTJPA meetings are available to members in the Members Area.
